Prof. OMOSIVIE MADUKA

Dr. Omosivie Maduka is a medical doctor, fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria Faculty of Public Health. She holds a Master of Science degree in Public Health from the University of London. She is a mid-career academic, practitioner, and researcher. She is currently a Senior Lecturer and immediate past Head of Department, Preventive and Social Medicine, University of Port Harcourt and Consultant Public Health Physician and immediate past Head of Department of Community Medicine, University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.

She has 17 years of experience in Public Health and Health Development. She has 60 research articles and book chapters in public health, and communicable and non-communicable disease epidemiology. She is actively involved in the Rivers State Public Health Emergency Operations Center (PHEOC) response to various outbreaks, epidemics, and pandemics including Covid-19. She provides critical support for the risk communication and research pillars of the Rivers PHEOC. She is the immediate past Chairperson of the Rivers State Branch of the Association of Public Health Physicians of Nigeria and the President of the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Rivers State Branch. She is also the National Publicity Secretary of the Association of Public Health Physicians of Nigeria.

She is the Chief Executive Officer of QualiHealth Communications Company Limited, a company with a passion to support research development, monitoring and evaluation and health information. She has anchored several public health videos on various health issues which she shares on @qualihealthcomm on facebook and youtube. These videos communicate health information in a clear and easy to understand manner such that viewers can make informed decisions about their health.
